April Meeting in February?

The APS April Meeting 2010 was held in February 2010. It's not a typo. By holding the meeting in February, APS was able to join the Winter Meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT).

Recognizing Laser's 50^th Anniversary

2010 marks the 50^th anniversary of the development of the first working laser (1960). LaserFest, a yearlong celebration of the laser, will be marked by international events, including special symposia at the April Meeting.

Scientific Program

The April Meeting offered its usual outstanding scientific program, this year consisting of three plenary sessions (nine plenary talks), approximately 75 invited sessions, more than 100 contributed sessions, plus poster sessions. There was also a public lecture on Monday evening.

The AAPT sessions were held concurrently with the April Meeting sessions. Some sessions were planned jointly by APS and AAPT.
