Many-Body Systems of Ultracold Atoms

Tutorial Registration

Registration Closes Friday, January 27

Red arrow   You must preregister for Sunday tutorials.

Sign up for all premeeting tutorials when you preregister for the March Meeting.

There is no on-site registration for premeeting tutorials.

Sunday, February 26
1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Convention Center
Room 157C

Who Should Attend
Graduate students, post-docs, university faculty and industrial researchers interested in a broad introduction to the current state of the field of UltraCold Atoms. We particularly encourage participation of graduate students and post-docs.

Tutorial Description
The precision and control of atomic physics now allows the study of well characterized and tunable quantum many-body systems realized with ultracold atoms. This session will provide introductory reviews of the most exciting research directions pursued in this field.

Topics

  • Feshbach resonances and few body physics
  • Applications of ultracold atoms for quantum simulations and metrology
  • Strongly interacting Fermi systems
  • Low dimensional systems
  • Exploring nonequilibrium quantum dynamics with cold atoms
  • Analysis of many-body systems in optical lattices with single atom resolution

Organizer
Professor Eugene Demler, Harvard

Instructors

  Markus Greiner Harvard
  Wolfgang Ketterle MIT
  Yusuke Nishida Los Alamos
  Anatoli Polkovnikov Boston University
Jun Ye NIST and UC Boulder
